The company was founded by Marty White, whose passion for HVAC began early. While still in high school, Marty discovered an interest in heating and cooling systems that led him to vocational training and later service in the United States Air Force. During his military career, Marty gained hands-on experience maintaining and servicing HVAC systems at critical facilities, sharpening the skills that would later define his professional career.
After completing his military service, Marty continued his education with a focus on HVAC and engineering, gaining industry experience while studying mechanical engineering at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. With a strong technical foundation and a growing demand for quality HVAC services in the area, he launched AMK Heating & Cooling. What began as a small, dedicated operation quickly grew as the company earned a reputation for reliable installations, system replacements, and responsive service.
In 2000, Marty was joined by his brother-in-law, Darryl, who became an integral part of the business. After more than two decades of working side-by-side and building extensive experience in the field, Darryl assumed ownership of the company in 2021 when Marty retired.
Today, Darryl continues to lead AMK Heating & Cooling with the same family values, workmanship standards, and customer-first mindset that the company was founded on. AMK Heating & Cooling remains family-owned and operated, proudly serving local homes and businesses with dependable service, trusted expertise, and a strong commitment to the Edwardsville community.
